Improved versions of that proven classic the Custom 875, the EX saxes are the result of decades of painstaking research and trials involving some of the world's greatest saxophonists. You will find that the depth and smoothness of their sound are simply incredible, and you will also find that these horns are very flexible, at home in any kind of music. The size and shape of the key buttons have been changed for a better \'feel\', while the new Custom necks enhance tonal resonance and give a quicker, more comfortable response. And the saxes feature a two-point bell brace for better efficiency, so you don't have to work as hard to sound great.

The smaller C, C#, D & E tone hole diameters provide for better intonation.

Key and hook placement have been changed for better comfort.
 
5) Tilting Style Low Bb Spatula Keys
The position, height, angle, and shape of the left-hand pinky keys have all been carefully redesigned to provide extraordinary comfort and quick response.
 
6) Adjustable Thumb Rest
All Yamaha saxophones feature an adjustable thumb rest to allow for precise and comfortable hand and fingering position.
 
7) Refined Key Shape and Dimension
Yamaha saxophone keys are not simply shaped and positioned according to mechanical necessity. The entire system is designed from the player's perspective, with emphasis on comfort, speed, and overall playability. Our 13-Point Professional Set-up includes.

  1. All transit packing and corks from the manufacturer are removed.

  2. Thorough visual check for any plating or lacquer defects
  3. All pads checked for quality.
  4. Test all pad seatings & key adjustments using a leak-light.
  5. All key corks and felts checked, adjusted to set vent heights.
  6. Regulate and adjust keywork as required.
  7. All spring tensions checked and adjusted to create a balanced feel across the instrument.
  8. Check neck tenon for correct fit.
  9. Neck cork checked for cork quality and greased.
  10. Check octave mechanism adjustment.
  11. Play test from top to bottom.
  12. Case inspected for quality, instrument fit and accessories.
  13. Instrument cleaned and carefully repacked
