Ozwinds TECH-ASSURE™ is our unique service which we use to prepare your new musical instrument prior to sale.

Our certified technicians put each new instrument through a rigorous checklist, which involves a comprehensive testing and adjustment process to ensure that it is ready to play with optimum performance from the moment you receive it.

We know the absolute importance that our TECH-ASSURE™ professional instrument setup provides in ensuring your instrument playing at its peak, so don’t settle for anything less.

Ozwinds TECH-ASSURE™ Woodwind Inspection

For: SAXOPHONE, FLUTE, PICCOLO, CLARINET, OBOE, BASSOON and COR ANGLIS

  • All transit packing and corks from the manufacturer are removed.
  • Thorough visual check for any wood, plating or lacquer defects.
  • All pads are checked for quality.
  • Testing of all pad seatings & key adjustments using a leak-light and feeler gauge.
  • All key corks and felts are checked, and adjusted to set vent heights.
  • Regulate and adjust keywork as required.
  • All spring tensions checked and adjusted to create a balanced feel across the instrument.
  • Test final pad seal with a Magnehelic air pressure test (FLUTE, PICCOLO, CLARINET, OBOE, BASSOON and COR ANGLIS).
  • Check all joint tenons for correct fit.
  • Inspect foot tenon for burrs (FLUTE AND PICCOLO).
  • Tenon corks checked for cork quality and greased (CLARINET, OBOE, BASSOON and COR ANGLIS).
  • Neck cork checked for cork quality and greased (SAXOPHONE).
  • Check octave mechanism adjustment (SAXOPHONE)
  • Play test from top to bottom.
  • Case is inspected for quality, instrument fit and accessories.
  • Finally, the instrument is cleaned and carefully repacked.

Ozwinds TECH-ASSURE™ Brass Inspection

For: TROMBONE, TRUMPET, CORNET, TENOR HORN, EUPHONIUM, TUBA and HORN

  • All transit packing and ties from the manufacturer are removed.
  • Thorough visual check for any plating or lacquer defects.
  • All corks, slides, valve felts /rotor stops where applicable are checked for quality
  • Oil and test valve / rotor operation as applicable.
  • Check operation of all slides.
  • All water key cork seatings checked.
  • Check valve stroke and rotor alignment as applicable.
  • Check provided mouthpiece fits in receiver.
  • Play test from top to bottom.
  • Case inspected for quality, instrument fit and accessories.
  • Instrument cleaned and carefully repacked.
