“Duet+” is original Yamaha technology that produces an ABS resin bore lining. Duet+ originates from oboe design technology and protects the instruments bore by a resin layer, minimising changes to the internal wood and enhancing precision for a more stable tone and pitch. With the likelihood of internal distortion and cracking due to humidity changes reduced, this provides the instrument with stable long-term playability and sound.
This added durability allows you, the player, to play in confidence long-term.
Silver-plated keys
Silver-plated nickel silver keys give a softer, warmer sound.
New adjustable thumb-rest and strap ring
A new adjustable thumb rest accommodates different-sized hands, helping the player develop proper playing technique. In addition, a strap ring allows the instrument to be held without extra effort. Firmer screws and a silver soldered ring give this new feature excellent durability.
Pivot screw
The YCL-450M incorporates the same taper screws as YCL-650, which makes adjustments more effortless than ever.
Second register vent tube
A new register vent tube shape improves pronunciation in the second register. Whereas the YCL-450 needs sufficient air pressure for a good response, the YCL-450M offers a great response, even with low air pressure, making it easy to play even for people with a smaller lung capacity.
