To mimic the organic structure of cane, D'Addario reverse-engineered cane itself, layering different strengths of polymer fibres with resin and organic reed elements to make up the reed blank.
The result? VENN outlasts and outperforms anything else like it – all while sounding and playing like your favourite cane reed.
The new Generation 2 VENN clarinet reeds take all of the positive elements of the original VENN clarinet reeds and improve upon them. The new models have improved flexibility, which finally gives a synthetic with Full Dynamic Range (a common complaint with other synthetics & the Gen 1 models)
The material and manufacturing process have been improved to eliminate the issues of fiber fraying after use and the need for a sealing layer of tape. Finally, the strengths of the VENN Gen 2 reeds offer strengths that more accurately line up to a cane reed strength, so there is less guesswork on finding the right strength.
