Pearl Quantz Flute (665RE) has French Pointed Arms (pointed keys) for unmatched quickness of speed. It is enhanced by a unique wall that gives a dark and rich sound, especially in the low register. Thus, the ability to shape the sound and scale, coupled with a new speed of movement, has shown Pearl's true homage to Quantz!

 
The Quantz Series is an homage to the legendary Baroque composer and flutist Johann Joachim Quantz (1697-1773), who created a rich and renowned body of flute compositions.
 
The spirit of each artisan at Pearl is reflected in the character of these instruments. This Series is highlighted by the aesthetic of the French Pointed Arms (pointed keys) for unmatched quickness of speed. When this is matched with our Pinless Mechanism and One-Piece Core-Bar Construction, the combinations are dramatic.
 
This may be the best bargain in history - all the features of the 665, in a more economical package. The 665 has a Sterling Silver headjoint, with Silver plated Body, C Footjoint, and Keys.

  1. All transit packing and corks from the manufacturer are removed.
  2. Thorough visual check for any plating or lacquer defects.
  3. All pads checked for quality.
  4. Test all pad seatings & key adjustments using a leak-light and feeler gauge.
  5. All key corks and felts checked, adjusted to set vent heights.
  6. Regulate and adjust keywork as required.
  7. All spring tensions checked and adjusted to create a balanced feel across the instrument.
  8. Test final pad seal with a Magnehelic air pressure test.
  9. Check foot and head joint tenons for correct fit.
  10. Check foot tenon for burrs.
  11. Play test from top to bottom.
  12. Case inspected for quality, instrument fit and accessories.
  13. Instrument cleaned and carefully repacked.
