This composition is an easy string orchestra piece written in the mixolydian mode. An optional easy drum set part can add to the hard-driving rock feel. The lowered leading tone (C natural) of the mixolydian mode helps create a "bluesey" sound. Performers should use vigorous, full bows and exaggerate the accents and crescendos. As a teaching tool, the basses should be encouraged to stay in third position as marked. A huge crescendo and energetic up-bow on the last note will bring the work to an exciting conclusion.
