LIGETI - DUO FOR VIOLIN AND PIANO

Gyorgy Ligeti's Duo for Violin and Piano, which is being published for the first time with this edition, was composed in December 1946 while studying at the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest. Ligeti conducted intensive counterpoint studies at that time. In addition, the work is committed to the idea of artistically stylized folk music, which goes back to Bartok and Kodaly.
