Kissin - String Quartet Op 3 Study Score

Evgeny Kissin's String Quartet op. 3 consists of four highly contrasting movements: The "Adagio liberamente" is followed by an extremely lively "Allegro inquieto", spiked with glissandi and moving into dynamic extremes. The third movement, entitled "Largo drammatico", lives from a haunting, strongly rhythmically punctuated motive, while the last movement after the "Pensierosamente, ma mantenendo strettamente il ritmo puntato" is prefaced into a brilliant finale, dodecaphonically embossed like "Molto allegro e sarcastico ", which is permeated with fugato elements. The well fifteen-minute, demanding work was created 2015-2016 and was first recorded in 2018 at Nimbus Records by the Kopelman Quartet.
