Kissin - Sonata Op 2 For Cello/piano

This one-movement sonata for violoncello and piano, Evgeny Kissin's Opus 2, is composed in a dark, melancholy ballad tone. The approximately ten-minute work from 2016 in its execution makes high demands on both instrumentalists. Steven Isserlis, who rehearsed and performed the sonata in close contact with the composer, adds fingering and bowing in an additional cello part. A wonderful enrichment for the cello repertoire!
