It was time to investigate the development of a trombone to fulfill the needs of the young Australian trombonists. Prime importance is the design and performance of the instrument, but another consideration, often overlooked, was the transportation convenience factor. After exhaustive research, the end result is a very fine trombone, with an equally fine compact "shoulder strap" carry case that won't trip up everybody on the bus.

• The slide on this Australian model is the same as on the YSL-645 professional trombone.
