 This will be an information workshop designed to educate and encourage discussion of general day-to-day maintenance of woodwinds instruments that should be followed by every woodwind player.
What you will learn with our woodwind technician Drew Niemeyer:

  • What are the biggest causes of maintenance costs and how you can reduce them
  • Ways you can get more from your music budget by following specific care procedures
  • How the seasons and weather affect your instruments and your related repair costs
  • How simple/common tools (eg cork grease) can create just as many problems as they solve
  • Information sheets that cover the main topics discussed
  • Further details will be provided as the date approaches

Drew Niemeyer - Woodwind Specialist
Drew began his technicians training in 1991 after graduating from the University of Queensland where he studied clarinet with Paul Dean and Nigel Sabin. Over the years he has travelled the globe expanding his technicians knowledge at numerous factories including Marigaux, Rigout, Sankyo and Buffet. His attention to detail and customised set ups see him in demand with professionals all over the state.
