Made by Leblanc in France, the Esprit is an entry-level Grenadilla wood clarinet. These clarinets rank alongside the Yamaha 450 and the Buffet E12 as a good first upgrade for the advancing student. This clarinet looks to be around 20 years old, however it still has plenty of playing left in it!

The wooden body is in quite good condition, with no evidence of neglect or any surface cracks. The silver plated keywork is exhibiting a bit of tarnishing, however this does not affect playability. Mechanically this clarinet is in reasonably good condition, and is playing ok as is, however a good service to address a couple of leaks and replace a few pads would be advisable in the near future. This has been considered when setting the sale price.

For the advancing student on a tight budget, this clarinet would offer the upgrade in tone that a wooden instrument provides, and with regular servicing and maintenance it would offer many years of great playing. Included is the original wood shell case, an old pull through cleaning cloth, and a bonus upgraded mouthpiece - Selmer C85 120 with ligature and cap. Pictures to come soon.
