Introducing the revolutionary, beginner-friendly, affordable full-range woodwind instrument!!

The Clarineo is a C clarinet with a simplified system of keywork.
As well as being a fully functioning instrument, the Clarineo is suitable for children as young as 5 or 6!

The Clarineo uses an Eb clarinet reed or its own purpose-made synthetic reed with a guide built-in for 100% accurate assembly.

Because the Clarineo is in C or Concert Pitch, i.e. it is non-transposing, the player can read from any music used by C-pitch instruments (e.g. recorder, piano, guitar etc.)

The Clarineo is shipped in attractive, quality packaging.

Accessories supplied with Self Teach pack, clockwise from top left: Backing Tracks CD, DVD, Book, Fingering chart, cane reed,
synthetic reed, pull-through cleaner and mouthpiece joint lubricant (small cylinder in the centre).

The Clarineo’s Appeal to Primary & Junior Schools & students

MUSICALITY

  • Because it is light, small and easy to blow, it enables young children to play a professional-sounding, musically sophisticated, fully chromatic musical instrument from the age of six.
  • Kids progress musically on from the recorder and are then prepared for playing wind instruments.
  • It plays along with primary school recorder, elementary percussion and voice music from the same music books because it is pitched in C (non-transposing instrument).
  • Its 3½ octave range greatly augments the 1½ octave recorder range that is typically what a child can reasonably expect to play in their early years.
  • The Clarinéo’s register from the E below Middle C to the third G above is very useful musically.
  • Its register complements the soprano/descant recorder’s register, which begins at the C above Middle C.
  • The Clarinéo’s mellow tone combined with its 3½ octave range greatly adds to the sound pallet provided by the recorder.
  • Combined with the recorder, percussion and voice, the Clarinéo gives the pupils, teachers and parents a more satisfying musical experience, which motivates the children to keep practicing.
  • Is equally suitable for soloing, ensemble work and parts-playing, giving the teacher great flexibility for making the music class more inspiring, and adding to school assemblies, parent evenings, concerts.

PRACTICALITY

  • Is very strong, has near-zero maintenance costs, never needs new pads, is completely waterproof.
  • Uses “o” rings, not cork, for the mouthpiece joint: these last for years, are easy to replace, and cost cents.
  • Any minor repairs that may prove necessary are simple and can be done easily by school staff or parents.

TEACHABILITY

  • Is easily assembled by a child in a 2-stage process of a bayonet-fitting bell and push-on mouthpiece,
  • Does not require tuning before each performance or practice,
  • Has a plastic reed with a ridge on the back that fits into a slot on the mouthpiece for fast, easy and correct positioning by young children.
  • Has a simple “cam” ligature, easily closed in one “click-on” movement, making it doubly easy for small hands to avoid disturbing the reed’s position when preparing the instrument for playing,
  • All these child-friendly features free the teacher’s invaluable class time for actual music teaching.
  • Has a comprehensive range of music available for it, especially written for six to twelve year olds.
  • The possible lack of a specialist music teacher in the Primary or Junior school is overcome by:
    a) the Self-Teach Clarinéo: containing method book, DVD for visual basic instruction on holding, blowing, fingering, etc., and CD with backing tracks to the tutor book music.  Teachers with musical training on any instrument can soon learn how to play to the standard required and instruct the class;
    b) a one-year class teaching course designed for Primary and Junior schools.

AFFORDABILITY

  • 1 x Clarinéo can be played by many individual kids each using their own low-cost mouthpiece.

YOUTH APPEAL

  • The Clarinéo and its case look "cool" and come in a choice of modern colours attractive to children.
  • The marketing images position it as a fun, modern, fashionable product, suitable for all children – the “guitar of wind instruments”, if you will - not as a classical instrument for only the musically gifted.
This broad, stylish appeal helps music making to be more popular among Primary and Junior school children across all their Grade age groups from six through twelve.
